If you have a well thought out plan that is fully communicated, with the right people in the right seats, doing the right things the right way, it is a statement. Otherwise, it is a wish.
By this point, 2022 should be about execution and responses to changes in the marketplace. The planning activity should have been put to bed a while ago.
But if not, don’t despair. Gather the key leaders on your team and get out of the office for 2 days of deep work. Get the plan done! Then come back into the office and gather all of your key managers for a day to fully communicate the plan and have them work on their execution plans.
Next, they need to do the same exercise with their direct reports.
In one-week the plan can be built and fully communicated but what can’t be done is to quickly hire and train the right people if you need to do so for 2022.
If your plan is ready to go, great job and enjoy a successful 2022.
If you are not quite ready yet, gather the troops and get it done in the next week.
